The Abyss is the blank space between the people who promised that you would be safe and loved no matter what, and the emptiness you found yourself staring into after you came out. The abyss is staring out at the dark sky at 3 am from a cold apartment, finding yourself alone after finally having the courage to be truthful about who you are and how you move through the world. The Abyss is the dark moments before it gets better and community reforms (and my god does it get better).

Rougaroux is a five-piece post-punk band from the stolen lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, otherwise known as Vancouver, BC.
A trans and Indigenous fronted post-punk experimental project, defying lines of genre and screaming into the void, willing a better world into existence through the power of friendship and chosen family.
Rougaroux is a scream into the void, a rallying call for chosen family, and a demand for a brighter future. This eclectic post-punk five piece project hailing from Burnaby, BC works themes on queer identity into high-energy, gut-wrenching mosh pit fuel. Rougaroux is made for screaming along to in your car, and pre-gaming queer prom.The five-piece queercore project started in 2021, after the isolation of the pandemic bred a desperate need inside this chosen family to make their art. After an EP, several singles, multiple western Canada tours, and a debut LP in 2025, Rougaroux embarked on their biggest project yet in 2026: the Friends In Financial Agony Tour, traveling to 16 cities across Canada.
